Recent PRK Recovery Experience

I had wavefront PRK surgery not too long ago myself. Like yourself, the first few days were tough, but I didn't regain acuity as fast as you did. I think it is important for people to realize that it can take quite a while for your vision to reach it's best level after PRK.

However, personally, I would not be willing to do the original LASIK style surgery.

Anyway, at this point the only thing I'm noticing is that when I stare at the computer screen all day (which I do way too often) that I tend to get dry eyes. Basically, I'll have dry eyes the next day when I wake up.

I liked the side by side format, good idea!

PRK tomorrow

I had Radial Keratotomy in 1989. Eyes were -8.5 and -9. Hurt like hell before even leaving the parking lot. Took months to get over sensitivity to cigarette smoke and sunlight, but no regrets. Did not wear glasses afterward. Eventually the left eye settled in at a little near sighted and the right eye a little far sighted. Seemed to work for both distance and reading.

My wife decided to look into Lasik here in Toronto and I tagged along as things just did not seem right with my vision. No longer as bright and sharp as they used to be.

Checked out the $495 advertised by a pair of surgeons. The one surgeon had a personality of zero. Bait and switch place. Next we checked out Bochnar. They really pushed for a lens implant as "we will likely get cataracts soon". Onwards and upwards to Herzig. Very pleasant experience as we talked to the surgeon and the co-owner without any pressure. We both felt comfortable with the place and booked the procedures that same day.

My wife had both eyes done for Monovision and things seemed to work out well, near vision very good right off the bat. Distance two weeks later seems very good. My appointment is tomorrow for PRK on only the right eye which also apparently has astigmatism which my eye checkup earlier in the year did not detect. Could be the reason for the grey look things have been recently.
