PRK

I had my PRK 4 weeks ago and I am scared to death. my vidion is very blurry. it is a lot worse then before my surgery. the only time i can see clear is the first 5 minutes in the morning after i wake up. Does anybody have the same experience? Is this part of the
healing?

Ask your doctor
I think you should ask your doctor about it. For me, the clear-vision times slowly increased as my eyes healed. I think everyone goes through a few freak out phases when things aren't healing fast enough. Remember that healing can take up to a year! I was stuck at the 5pm-vision-goes-blurry stage for what seemed like forever.
PRK, and still blurry...
I had PRK on left eye 2 weeks and 2 days ago. Then, I had the right eye done (PRK) 1 wk. later. I am also very dismayed at how blurry things are still. My first eye seems a bit clearer, but my right eye (the 2nd one done) is still very, very blurry...it's about the same as pre-surgery. I know Dr. said it would take awhile, but I really didn't think it would be like this. When watching TV I can hardly see the people's faces, let alone their expressions. I have done a bit of research on the net and I found one thing that sounds similar to what I am going thru. It's called "regression". It's when the eye simply reverts back after surgery to it's pre-surgery prescription! Imagine!! Dr. has to wait for the regression to stabilize before another corrective surgery can happen (I think about 6 months). Has anyone else ever experienced this? If regression is not what is happening with me, is it within normal limits to still be so blurry after 1 week and 2 days? Thanks for any info.

Blurry 2 weeks for me...
Denise:
I think it is pretty normal to see stuff pretty blurry for the first couple of weeks. I had my left eye done about 17 days ago. The first 2 weeks is very blurry. I had my bandage contact lens out on Day 6 and my eye is still blurry for another 6 days. On my Day 12 check-up the doctor found out I have a scratch on the eye and put back the contact lens for 2 more days. Up till that point I was still very blurry. On Day 14, when they took out the 2nd bandage contact lens, I have some better vision that day and then it slowly progressing to become better day by day. I can work on computer pretty well and read even with my right eye closed now but I still not confident to drive with that kind of vision if both my eye are like that. Anyway, I think it varies from person to person or even eye to eye, how fast they heal. Don't worry about regression too much for now. My feeling is that it takes time to stablize. I had good days and bad days in terms of seeing things clearly or not.
Take care

night vision issues
Hey all--exactly 4 weeks out. Difficult for me to complain since, overall, my vision is great. I had 1 day or so of light sensitivty and irritation then I was fine. Not much has changed in 3 weeks (I am 20/20).
Strangely, seemingly more and more, I am seeing double images (starbursts perhaps) especially around red taillights of vehicles when driving at night. They are not round halos but rather 'smudged' as if they were drawn with pencil then smudges with a finger. Every now and then I see a half double image around a green or red stoplight at night (just the light not the entire thing).
I have no idea if this is part of the healing process. Of course a lasik + center is telling me just to wait----any thoughts?
Ah the path of insanity
This happened to me as well. I started to worry because the halos were pretty opaque. If I looked at a street light with a tree behind it, I couldn't see the branches on the tree due to the halo.
All of that went away after about 6 months. I don't remember the exact time because it was a really gradual thing and I stopped paying attention to it. When I finally remembered to test myself again, it was gone.
You go your whole life pretty much not scrutinizing you vision --> get laser corrective surgery --> start paying close attention to any and all visual anomalies --> freak out --> create entirely new set of phrases to describe your visual reality --> realize scrutiny is causing insanity --> stop paying attention --> relax --> time passes --> eyes heal --> forget old reality...
3 weeks out still blurry as well...
I had my Left eye done 3 weeks ago today and it is still blurry and not crisp, but it comes and goes. I would probably measure about 20/30, but I can barely read street signs just yet. Also I have noticed my color perception is much worse than before. Colors used to be so vibrant and now everything is really muted and dull. Has anyone else experienced this?
I am having my right eye done on Monday (the 12th) ...so we'll see how that goes.
