Debian installation

This is really a piece of cake, and I'm not going to go into much detail about it.

  1. Burn the first two Debian ISOs to CD.
  2. Insert the disk 1 into the cd-rom drive.
  3. Boot the machine.
  4. The debian installer should start.

The installer is pretty good in that you can pick human understandable options or drill down to the nitty gritty. I simply did a "desktop" installation and let the installer manage the disk partitioning. The only thing that I really needed to know about the machine at this point is what to choose for the video card/display.
