A good .bash_profile (or .profile)

I like this bash command prompt because it changes the window title of the terminal session as well. Now I won't have to look it up anymore. Goes back to the original purpose of this site I guess...

I have an AppleTV that is now playing movies from a variety of sources. This is how I am able to take some of the more popular movie containers and convert (transcode) them for use with the AppleTV using OSX.

It was hard to come up with a title for this article... Essentially the problem that I have been repeatedly been asked to solve is: Company A wants to use Company B's web application within it's own web application. How can we make sure that only people from Company A will be able to access Company B's application?

Bypass draconian firewalls

Low power computing: NorhTec MicroClient

My desktop computer at home is a power hungry beast. It uses a 400W power supply, and has four fans that are constantly spinning. It was always on and made a bunch of noise. I decided to purchase an inexpensive replacement that would run silent and used minimal power.

Data conversion complete
Submitted by Matt Fleming on Sun, 2005-11-27 02:04.I finished importing all of my previous roller entries into the drupal system. I ended up doing it manually.. I know, I know.. "aren't you some kind of programmer?" But by the time I created a proggie to extract and load the data for a one-time data transfer, I could have manually entered the data about ten times; it just didn't seem worth it. As Dennis Miller would say "I don't want to go off on a rant here but.."
